Your Guide to the new 2014 Farm Bill Conservation Programs
linked is a quick summary of changes made to the new Farm Bill, enacted February 7, 2014. These programs are administered by USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service. The New Farm Bill streamlines conservation programs that enable farmers, ranchers and forest landowners to get assistance.
Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP)
RCPP promotes coordination between NRCS and its partners to deliver conservation assistance to producers and landowners. NRCS provides assistance to producers through partnership agreements and through program contracts or easement agreements.
Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP)
ACEP provides financial and technical assistance to help conserve agricultural lands and wetlands and their
related benefits.
Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
CSP helps agricultural producers maintain and improve their existing conservation systems and adopt additional conservations activities to address priority resource concerns. Participants earn CSP payments for conservation performance - the higher the performance, the higher the payment.
Environmental Quality incentives Program (EQIP)
EQIP provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers in order to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits such as improved water and air quality, conserved ground and surface water, reduced soil erosion and sedimentation or improved or created wildlife habitat.
